It’s about Shri Jagannath Puri Temple

The beautiful state in the eastern part of India – Odisha is magical as every corner and every turn of this magnetic state has a visual wonder tucked away. A vacation to the Eastern part of India ensures more than just a magnificent visual treat and the skipping of a heartbeat. Odisha’s breatkhing views, natural splendors, rivers pull the curtains to greet guests. Not forget to mention the spirituality and divinity that lies in every corner of the beautiful state. However, center of spirituality (not only for Odisha but for the entire country) is Puri – the reign of Shri Jagannath Prabhu (Lord of the Universe).

One of the Char Dhams (four most sacred places of Hindus for worship), the famous temple (also known as Jagannath Puri Temple) was constructed in 11th Century. Here, the central forms of Jagannath Prabhu, Balabhadra and the goddess Subhadra add up to the trinity of divinities sitting on the festooned platform that is called as Ratnavedi in the middle chamber. In addition to this, the Sudarshan Chakra along with deities of Madanmohan, Sridevi and Vishwadhatri are also placed on the Ratnavedi. According to the priests, deities of Lord Jagannath, Balbhadra, Subhadra and Sudarshan Chakra are made of sacred Neem Logs known as Daru Brahma.

Deities are also adorned in different garbs and jewels according to the season. The real charm of the famous temple can be seen in the month of June-July every year when world-famous Puri Rath Yatra is organized. The most vital festival of Odisha is Ratha Yatra (the Chariot Festival or Car Festival) that is held with sacred magnificence at Puri.

You can be the part of this grand festival by booking room or getting package from MAYFAIR Puri – a star category luxury beach hotel offering comfy accommodation.
