It’s All about Darjeeling

Talking about Darjeeling, it is truly the pride of Indian tourism that is known for its colonial architecture, plush greenery, tea plantation, and the amazing scenic view of Kanchenjunga and Tiger Hill. Tiger Hill is one of the main attractions here at an altitude of 8000 ft that offers a panoramic and picturesque view of Himalayas. If you want to witness the amazing view of colour changing over Kanchenjunga Peak, then visit it before the dawn. 

Observatory Hill is also one of the amazing and beautiful places to explore in Darjeeling that is rising over Chowrasta – the observatory Hill that is known as Dara. It is the amazing place and one of the best Darjeeling pictures that present you the amazing view of more than 12 peaks of over 20,000 feet high each and the surrounding countryside, right up to Sikkim. 

Another amazing attraction is Senchal Lakes very close to Tiger Hill. Being a famous picnic spot, it was built during the British Rule that Keep water supply in Darjeeling continue. 

Not forget to mention the name of Mahakal Temple situated on the summit of Observatory Hill. Japanese Peace Pagoda, Ghoom Gompa, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Shruberry Nightingale Park, Himalayan Zoological Park, Looyd Botanical Garden, Chowrasta and Mall, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, Rock Garden, Ganga Maiya Park, Batasia Loop, Bar Memorial, etc are names a few that speak a lot about Darjeeling, even without uttering a word. 

After knowing about the main attractions, often many tourists come with the question “Where is Darjeeling”. If you are also one of them, then you must know that it is in the state of West Bengal where you can reach via road, rail and air. Nearest airport is Bagdogra at the distance of around 88 km. New Jalpaigudi is the nearest railway station with broad gauge line. It is well connected via road to all main cities of India.
